Update to AML Product Specifications Corrigenda
An updated version of the Corrigenda (Version 1.1) is now available. This incorporates the changes identified in Version 1.0 of the Corrigenda and adds further corrections and clarifications to the AML vector Product Specifications. It is available here.
AML Version 3.0 Vector Product Specification
NATO has endorsed AML version 3.0. This version combines the 6 previous vector specifications into a single product specification and feature catalogue.
Version 3.0 also extends the Feature Catalogue in the following areas:
- Additional land features and attributes from VMAP
- Ice features and attributes from WMO ECDIS Ice Objects v4.0
- Additional air features and attributes
- S-57 3.1.1 Archipelagic Sea Lane objects and extra enumerates on CATREA
- Generic attributes SCAMIN and SCAMAX
- Extra attribution on Marine Management Area
These have been added to the Product Specifications section of the site and may be accessed
here.
Atmospheric and Meteorological Climatology (AMC)
Produced by the Meteorological Office, the NATO endorsed version 1.0 of the AMC Product Specification complete with its implementation annex in GRIB format is available here.
Integrated Water Column (IWC)
Version 2.0 of the Phase 1 IWC Product Specification and its Annex for implementation in the NetCDF format have been placed on this site.
Phase 1 includes physical properties of the water column, ocean currents and marine mammal information.
Network Model Bathymetry
A revised draft of the NMB Product Specification has been produced. This version incorporates the Bathymetric Attributed Grid(BAG) format as a carrier annex(Annex D) to the specification. It is currently under review by the GMWG. The draft (unendorsed) version may be accessed here. For further information email aml@ukho.gov.uk.
Object and Attribute Catalogue
Object and Attribute (O&A) Catalogues in the form of Excel spreadsheets consistent with the six vector Product Specifications at both v1.0 (latest is v1.1.6) and 2.1 (latest is v2.3.3) are available here.
The Hydrographic Information Harmonisation Working Group
The HIHWG AML, constituted under the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) and the Digital Geographic Information Working Group (DGIWG), met for the final time in February 2006. The outcome of this work was a Final Draft Report on the potential to achieve interoperability through hydrographic standards harmonisation.
Chart-like titles in AML Products
An interim solution to the requirement for chart-like titles in AML datasets has been developed by UKHO in consultation with the GMWG Production Harmonisation Technical Panel (PHTP) the technical solution and naming convention is available here.
